Cavities are one of the most prevalent problems with teeth that Dr. Austin Babcock deals with here at Sedona Dental Arts in Sedona. Arizona. While it’s sometimes very easy to tell if you have a cavity or not, other times it’s more difficult.
So let’s take a look at some symptoms of cavities, as well as what you can do to avoid getting them in the first place.
Aching teeth
If you have a tooth that’s been bothering you for a while – usually accompanied by a dull ache or sharp pain – then it’s likely the tooth has a cavity. If it’s been a while since your last regular checkup, then it’s entirely possible it formed recently and can be effectively treated – as long as you’re quick in getting to our office.
Teeth that hurt when you bite on them
If you have teeth that only hurt when you use them to chew or bite, that’s another sign of a cavity. This is usually a sign of a cavity that’s smaller, just beginning to form. These types of cavities, while still important to get filled, aren’t as serious as ones that cause a constant toothache.
